We are pleased to announce the completion of the acquisition of Stora Enso’s N\u00e4pi sawmill. The transaction includes all land and buildings used by the former N\u00e4pi sawmill, as well as equipment related to wood processing, excluding lumber machinery. <\/p>\n
This strategic acquisition allows us to significantly increase our production capacity, providing growth opportunities in international export markets and creating jobs for local residents.<\/p>\n
“The situation in the wood sector has posed various challenges in recent years, but we believe in long-term growth in wood utilization. Expanding our capacity in woodworking, both in planing and painting, will help strengthen our position in existing markets and win new ones. Bertrand Yraeta, CEO of France’s Groupe Rose, owner of Puidukoda O\u00dc, said: “The investment is being made under difficult market conditions, but above all with a long-term perspective in mind. Estonia has a certain advantage due to its location, as wood grows in the region and is exported around the world.”<\/p>\n
“The decision to close the N\u00e4pi sawmill was announced in June 2023 as one of several measures to improve the long-term competitiveness and profitability of the Stora Enso Group.
